I had the pleasure of working with Merl Kinzie, Kate Kinzie and Jenny Munn in November for an Eco-Conscious pop-up at Merl and Kate's new space at 1021 W. 18th Street in Pilsen, Chicago. Although it was FREEZING outside, we managed to stay cozy with hot cider and a bit of red wine. Merl previewed her new line of jewelry. For this line, she used a mixture of her signature quirky vintage components and added recycled sterling silver, brass and gold fill metals. In addition, Jenny from The Collective Chicago debuted her line of essential oils. Collaborating with makers who aim to make a positive impact on the environment while maintaining a fresh aesthetic is just invigorating. Thanks for having me!
California Nights on Saturday, August 16th was an absolute blast! Getting to meet neighbors and ladies who understood the Rawson aesthetic was the best motivator! I introduced RAWSON PAPER into the mix as well as the indigo catchalls. It was fantastic to be able to pop-up and display my wares. Thanks to Wilson at the Arborist for hosting some many wonderful vendors!
In hazy July, we featured model and feminist role model, Melanie, in our first look book. We put together some of our favorite cotton, silk and denim pieces. Based on a neutral color palette, we let the bright sunshine and lush greenery highlight the textures and draping of the clothing.
